In “LATIN FOOTPRINTS” Mafalda Minnozzi returns to the Rocky Mountain Archtop Festival for the main stage at the “HILTON GARDEN INN ” with scenes and songs from her life via the composers who accompanied and inspired her during her 35 year career in Brazil, Italy, and beyond. Just as in a movie, frame after frame, she presents an intimate soundtrack that can seduce the audience into becoming co-stars in the same film.

With a jazz sensibility Mafalda taps into both her acclaimed Brazilian album “Natural Impression” and “Sensorial”, both produced and arranged by guitarist Paul Ricci whose unique finger style approach to  Bossa and Jazz is full of surprises.

Mafalda will present diverse selections such as Ennio Morricone’s “Metti Una Sera A Cena” to Jobim’s “Águas de Março”, from Bruno Martino’s “Estate” to Django Reinhart’s “Nuages”, all together with some Cole Porter and Jacques Brel to unify the world’s great songbooks in Mafalda’s very personal improvisational styling and passionate interplay with the guitar.

Over the past 8 years, Mafalda has come to NY alongside her guitarist/arranger Paul Ricci to become a standout on Jazz radio and on the NY scene where, among other venues, they’ve played at Birdland, Mezzrow and NYU, and have recorded 4 CDs that feature John Patitucci, Don Byron, Dave Leibman, Rogerio Boccato, Helio Alves, Graham Haynes, Will Calhoun, Art Hirahara, Joe Locke and Michael Wolff among others. Paul’s played with many noted jazz players as well as with Astrud and Bebel Gilberto, Harry Belafonte, Bobby Sanabria, Coumba Sidibe and others from the Caribbean, Latin and African melting pot while also living in Brazil for 20+ years. As a result, the duo brings an unprecedented command to the amalgam of Bossa with classic world songbooks for a virtuosic and exciting interplay in one global jazz style.
